A Reminder from Max Capacity

"Eventually, even the best cared for battery
loses capacity."
MaxCapacity

Batteries are powered by the interaction of corrosive chemicals and metal plates. As batteries age, this chemical reaction builds internal corrosion.

Compare the aged battery to a five gallon can containing four gallons of sediment. The fluid capacity is reduced to 20%, or one gallon. Similarly, a battery could experience corrosive buildup until only 20% of the original capacity is left. Both charging time and running time could be reduced to a few minutes.

SSCOR, Inc. wants to reemphasize the importance of battery care. Effective charging protocols should be followed and every battery should be tested weekly for its state of charge and capacity to perform.

Capacity is best checked on a battery analyzer, or in its absence, SSCOR, Inc. recommends the following protocol to monitor remaining battery capacity.

Once per week, with the battery fully charged:

Disconnect the unit from the vehicle or its charger

Run the unit for 15 minutes on battery power only

If it slows down or stops during the 15 minute test, its capacity is low. It is time for a new battery. Contact your SSCOR distributor for part numbers and pricing.

If you have questions about battery care or our products, call us at SSCOR at (800) 434-5211 or international +1 818-504-4054.

Whichever S-SCORT® product you have, we want the power in your hands.
